What to wear?

Whatever is most comfortable for you. This is a pretty casual church clothing-wise, so feel free to discard the tie and high heels. Jeans, flip-flops and cut-off's are fine. We're not concerned about how you dress here. Really.

What happens when you first walk in?

Someone will greet you at the door and will show you where things are.  Someone else will give you a worship bulletin. There is also coffee available for those who need a cup to get going.  Children should be signed into the nursery.

Where should you sit?

Where ever you want. If you take someone's seat, that person will just move somewhere else. No big deal

How does the service begin?

Each service begins differently.  At the 8:45 service, we begin with the words, "The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you."  At the 10:00 contemporary service, the band, "Under the Cross" will help you move into worship with lively song.  At the 11:00 service, processional music with historic hymns begin the time as the Light of the World and the Cross of Christ come in to signal to us that worship has begun.

Where are the restrooms?

To the left of the main entrance hall.  There are also restrooms in every children's classroom and in the nursery.

What is "First Sunday" Lunch?

That is a wonderful potluck meal when the various superb cooks in the church all bring something delicious to eat. Everyone is welcome to stay. The children love it--what a selection of desserts! It's a relaxed time for conversation and a ton of fun. Happens on the first Sunday of each month, and that is also when we celebrate Holy Communion in all three services.

What is Holy Communion?

Also known as the Eucharist, or the Lord's Table, it is a time when we experience over again of the core of the Good News: Jesus has come, given himself up, went to the cross for us, and then found life again in the resurrection. It reminds us beautifully of the love of God for us. You will be invited to come as you wish to front of the church. One person will give you a piece of bread. Another will offer a cup with grape juice, and you dip the bread into the cup and then ingest it. If you can't come forward, a server can bring the communion elements to you. Gluten free bread is always made available for those who cannot tolerate gluten products.

If you choose not to participate, that is also fine. There is no pressure. You do not need to be a member of this church or a United Methodist to participate.
