The Worship Experience

The life of a church centers around its worship. There are multiple styles of worship, and there is no one "right" style, or one that guarantees some sort of perfect experience.

At First UMC Krum, we seek to provide worship that encourages those present to become more aware of both the transcendence and the immanence of our Holy God. In other words, we need to recognize that God is something indefinable, way beyond what we can even imagine. Yet in that indefinable essence, there is a sense in which we may appreciate and experience the fullness of God in the present moment.

We are aided in our worship experience at Krum by an excellent music program, led by Mark Withers. In the fall of 2011, we launched a new worshiping community at the 10:00 hour. This time brings the best of contemporary Christian music with our band, "Under the Cross" leading the music.  Jessi Soule brings a message that speaks to the spiritual needs of people of all ages, and then the Rev. Dr. Christy Thomas leads us in the celebrate of Holy Communion so we stay in touch with the essential sacrament of the Christian community.
